Julie Jimenez

Shriver Program Fellow, AmeriCorps VISTA

Los Angeles, CA

At LIFT, Julie is currently serving as a Shriver AmeriCorps Fellow. She is very honored to be part of Sergeant Shriver’s legacy as we mark the 50 years of the War on Poverty. As a Shriver Fellow she focuses on Evaluation and Quality Assurance of the program. She is leading an initiative called Constituent Voice (CV) to get feedback from members and eventually improve the overall program. Along with these projects, she is also responsible for managing the online database systems and making sure that information about resources in Los Angeles can be accessible for advocates and members to better help them fulfill their goals.

She LIFTs because she has experienced the effects of the social and economic inequalities that many of her members are facing. She wants to help individuals in underserved communities by informing them about resources and give them that much needed support that they need to get ahead.

Julie graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2013. While in undergrad, she interned on Capitol Hill at the office of the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. She learned about how policies are created and enacted. While working at LIFT, she gets to see how these policies are positively and negatively affecting individuals first hand.
